Today’s home buyer is different…open houses aren’t as effective

September 17th, 2008 · No Comments

Hello…things are different, accept change. I was recently discussing the concept of holding an open house of a property EVERY DAY.  Why would I do this when people rarely go to open houses.  People look online and either qualify of disqualify the house within seconds of looking at the pictures of the particular home.  I think having an open house is effective when the listing is new and maybe a few weeks down the road, but having multiple open houses is going to waste the time of the realtor.  I.E. they will be sitting on their butt for a few hours and more than likely get more nosey neighbors than anything when they should be working on things that sell real estate and reach customers in todays market.
